Summary
As a large-scale shopping mall, maintaining stable and strong indoor mobile signals is crucial for enhancing customers' shopping experience and ensuring reliable communication during emergencies. Miramar Entertainment Park previously employed a passive DAS system. However, over time, the system began to experience failures, and due to the lack of a network management mechanism, troubleshooting required significant effort but often failed to identify the root cause. Due to its high traffic, Miramar requires a system with wide bandwidth that can support four 4G bands and 5G/n78 4x4 MIMO. To improve the 4G and 5G signal quality for CHT, FET, and TWM, and after considering system performance and architectural flexibility, Miramar ultimately decided to adopt ZQAM's active DAS solution.
Challenge
The existing passive DAS system supports 2G and 3G bands (700, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz), but it has long been insufficient during peak traffic periods. Therefore, upgrading to a system that supports 4G and 5G is essential to improve the user experience. Additionally, in buildings like Miramar Entertainment Park, which were constructed over 20 years ago, modifications to renovations or electrical wiring are not possible, and no on-site power is available for active components. In such cases, a reliable device is needed to provide stable power to meet system requirements.
Insufficient Bandwidth: The existing passive DAS system supports 2G and 3G bands (700, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz), but it has long been insufficient during peak traffic periods. Therefore, upgrading to a more broadband-capable 4G and 5G system is essential to deliver a better user experience for consumers.
No on-site power: In cases like Miramar Entertainment Park, built over 20 years ago, existing buildings often face limitations that prevent modifications to renovations or electrical wiring. When no on-site power is available for active components, it becomes essential to find a reliable device that can supply stable power to meet the necessary requirements.
Benefits
ZQAM ZoneDAS Two Plus solution supports four 4G bands and 5G/n78 4x4 MIMO, effectively resolving the bandwidth limitations of the older passive DAS at Miramar and addresses the lack of network management functionality, making future operations and maintenance much easier. This upgrade provides consumers with a much better visiting experience.
Downlink Throughput Exceeding 1 Gbps: The average downlink maximum throughput for leading telecom providers such as CHT, FET, and TWM has reached 1136 Mbps. This level of performance is highly efficient and provides significantly fast data speeds, making it well-suited for a wide range of commercial applications.
Automated email alerts: Provide an intuitive and real-time web-based management system that sends email alerts automatically when detecting abnormalities of remote units, making it easier to manage and optimize performance. The email will include the floor plan location of the alarm device, making it easier for maintenance personnel to locate the installation site of the alarm device.
