As CTCI Zhongding Group continues to expand its global footprint, in order to maximize the group‘s synergy and accelerate business development in various fields, CTCI built the group’s second headquarters building. This is a corporate and commercial building with 12 floors above ground and 2 floors underground.

Summary
This is a newly built second headquarters building of CTCI. Mobile phone communication without blind spots is a basic requirement of modern offices. But building materials such as steel structures, reinforced concrete, granite, and low-radiation energy-saving glass block outdoor mobile signals from entering the building, this leads to mobile signal dead zones, meaning frustration for those trying to use their phones and potentially negative impacts on productivity for businesses. They desperately need a solution to allow staff to use their mobile phones anytime, anywhere. In this project, Zyxel provide a cost-effective solution to solve their indoor coverage issue.
Challenge
Passive DAS need RF skilled engineer to plan the architecture. Coaxial cable installation is time wasting and cost high solution. Passive DAS could not provide 4G and 5G RF signal on a single coaxial cable. CTCI expects to minimize the initial investment and hope the solution with flexible and scalable capability. The first stage is to deploy 4G/LTE solution. As bandwidth demands increase, the same solution platform must scale to enable 5G upgrades without changes to wireline infrastructure.

Zyxel Technologies’ Active DAS platform, ZoneDAS One, provides CTCI with the following benefits:
- ZoneDAS One use innovative RF over Ethernet cable technology to replace coaxial cable. Ethernet cable materials are cheap to purchase and easy to install, and can be constructed by ordinary IT personnel without the need for professional RF construction personnel. Therefore, construction time and personnel costs can be significantly reduced.
- Using PoE to provide remote power feeding to RU can solve the construction problem of difficulty in obtaining local power supply.
- ZoneDAS One is a modular design platform which is easy to provide flexible and scalable capacity. The system can be upgraded to 5G by adding new modules without changing the original wiring.
- When there is no base station provided by telecom operators, ZoneDAS One can use Repeater to receive outdoor wireless signals to quickly provide services.
